A total clearance of 23 rams was a rewarding result at the 09 Classing Classic Ram Sale for David & Karen Ridgway, principles of the Ridgway Advance Stud on Friday the 2nd of October at Murray Bridge.

David & Karen's Poll Team of fifteen rams averaged $4,467, with the lead Ram 'Billy 09' creating spirited bidding and selling for $8,500. This Ram was an upstanding Ram displaying many of the attributes seen at the Ridgway Advance Stud. Glenville Stud, Cowell, outlaid $6500 for an 18.8 micron Stud Sire, with a 2.3 SD & 100pc comfort factor. For the first time Ridgway Advance sold a line of four poll spring drop rams which consequently caused a frenzie of bidding at pen 81 (selling to a top of $5750 and averaging $5000)

The Stud offered a team of eight Merino Rams which averaged $3095. The top price was acheived by an outstanding Ridgway Advance Horn Ram with great carcase attributes, excellent skin and growing a elite fleece which was bought by the Sohnic Stud, Marnoo for $6,750.

The high-quality Ridgway Advance Rams impressed the large crowd of buyers and spectators with their even long stapled line-up. With the completion of the classic sale all 09 auction rams at the Ridgway Advance Stud have been sold, with flock rams now available.

The Ram selling season has seen the Ridgway Advance Merino & Poll Merino Stud averaged $2040 for the top 150 Auction Rams. A wonderful result.
